If you are a current board member, or are considering joining the board of an organisation, this event will help you to understand the role of a volunteer board member, motivations for joining a board and potential benefits.
The role of trustee or board member brings legal, financial and other responsibilities. It is important that these are understood by current board members or anyone thinking of taking on the role. This training provides an overview of those responsibilities.
This training is funded by the Institute for Leadership and organised by Urban Vision Enterprise. It will provide an introduction to being a board member; the responsibilities, skills needed and practical tips on good governance and to help to avoid some common pitfalls.
Your trainer will be Catriona Reynolds, Head of Board Development with Culture & Business Scotland (C&BS), a charity supporting the not-for-profit cultural sector in a range of ways including developing knowledge, skills and expertise to meet both individual and organisational development needs.
There is no charge, but booking is essential.
If you are interested in attending the free on-line session, please contact info@uvecic.co.uk. Please give your name and the organisation that you are involved with. A zoom link will be issued.
