Andi Herring, CEO of LCR Pride Foundation, said: “The murder of Brianna Ghey horrified both those within the LGBT+ community and beyond. Brianna was just a young girl and had her whole life ahead of her. Although we are thankful her killers have been brought to justice, our thoughts go out to her family, friends and of course, the Trans community, who continue to grieve Brianna.
“There is an unbearable climate of fear felt by our Trans community, flamed by the toxic Transphobic narrative that is incessantly pushed by the Government, media and those who claim to be ‘gender critical’. If we can learn anything from Brianna’s murder, it must be that things have to change – and fast.
“We must stand with our Trans communities and continue to fight the prejudice and hate that they face, not just today, but everyday. May Brianna rest in power.”
