LCR Pride Foundation has been named a finalist in the Liverpool City Region Culture and Creativity Awards, in the “Impact Award – Community Cohesion” category.
The category celebrates the power and value of culture and creativity to achieve positive outcomes in community cohesion and the foundation has been recognised for its response to hate crimes targeting the LGBT+ community and the launch of its ‘You’re Safe Here’ scheme, delivered in partnership with Merseyside PCC, which brings together organisations and agencies across the city region to create safe spaces for all.
The awards’ judging panel, which is made up of members of the Liverpool Cultural Partnership together with invited representatives from the Creative and Cultural sector, selected all of the finalists from a total of 730 entries.
Other finalists include friends and partners of LCR Pride Foundation, such as Homotopia in the “Arts Organisation of the Year” category, Bill Elms in the ”Covid-19 Creative Response (individual)” category for his work with the Liverpool Theatre Festival and Lousie Nulty from The Studio in Halton.
LCR Pride Foundation Co-founder and CEO, Andi Herring, said: “We are so proud to once again be finalists in the LCR Culture and Creativity Awards and in exceptional company, alongside so many other fantastic organisations and individuals whose work has had an impact on the city. We would like to congratulate all the other finalists and will look forward to celebrating all of our successes at the ceremony in March.”
