LCR Pride Foundation will tomorrow (11th August) be contacting successful applicants to the foundation’s Community Fund.
Applications for the General Fund, Film Fund and Physical Activity and Sport Fund closed last week, with a total submissions of almost £30,000 across all three funds received.
The funds were established to help projects supporting the LGBT+ community in the Liverpool City Region earlier this year, using reserves that had previously been allocated for the delivery of Pride in Liverpool 2020 after the event was cancelled due to the ongoing pandemic.
Speaking of the applications, Lewis Collins, Chair of the LCR Pride Foundation Board of Directors, said: “We have been inundated with with really fantastic submissions from a range of individuals and organisations delivering initiatives that have the power to make a huge difference to the lives of LGBT+ people in the city region.
“Evaluating and awarding the funds has been a difficult task, due to the high quality of all the submissions. We are looking forward to sharing these projects and watching them come to fruition in coming months.”
Andrew Websdale, Regional Head of Barclays Spectrum, Barclays LGBT+ colleague network said: “We are delighted to support both the Young at Heart 2020 Digital Programme and the LCR Pride Foundation Community Fund. Now, more than ever, this fund is critical to ensuring the survival of groups who make such a large impact on the people they support.”
LCR Pride Foundation will be revealing the successful projects in coming weeks and all projects will be completed, or on track to be completed, by April 2021.
