Tony Griffin, the Chair of CMAGIC, Navajo & In-Trust, has been nominated for the lifetime achievement award at the National Diversity Awards (NDAs) 2021.
The nomination comes following four decades of working in the public and voluntary sector and campaigning for the rights of trans, non-binary and intersex people. For the last 18 years Tony, who is a trans man, has been striving to persuade the NHS to provide the opportunity to develop local services, culminating in the recent launch of CMAGIC (Cheshire and Merseyside Adult Gender Identity Collaborative).
Speaking of his nomination, Tony said: “I am absolutely blown away to have been nominated for the National Diversity Awards Lifetime Achievement award for 2021. I’m not used to asking for votes, but this nomination is not just about me. It’s about the different communities I’ve been privileged to work with over the past forty plus years. Every vote for me is a vote for those communities and their incredible work. It raises awareness of what they do, which is what makes this so important.”
